From Evil Forest to Colony:
The Colonial Government and leprosy treatment in Nigeria

The paper examines the treatment of leprosy treatment in Nigeria, with specific reference to the northern region. The colonial approach to leprosy will be compared to the traditional approach in which lepers were banished to evil forests. The paper will be focusing on the new treatment and the reaction of the traditional society. It will also focus on Leper colonies in the country and the extent to which the colonial government was able to tackle leprosy in the country..
