Abstract

This paper examines the vulnerability of women in civil war. Political violence has become recurrent phenomena in many developing countries including Nigeria. Although some political violence often brings positive results its devastating effect may be enormous, mostly borne by women and children. It is against this backdrop this paper attempts to identify factors influencing political violence, examine gender most vulnerable and offers suggestion on how political violence could be addressed. The methodology employed in this study will be derived from oral interview and available literature. In conclusion, the paper posits that political violence pose more devastating effect on women and children.
