To Sisay Asefa, Professor of Economics, Ayittey's truth may be too bitter:
Ghanian economist Professor George Ayittey's no nonsense straight talk is the truth with a little exageration, and as the saying goes "the truth hurts". If African intellectual and political elites listen to him and others like him, and correct their mistakes in thinking instead of becoming defensive and bashing him, Africa and Africans may be free both in economic and political terms, and perhaps what South African President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa called as an "African Renaissance" may be a reality than a fantasy. May God help the African people.
