Image Index > Female Intimacy > One Woman Courts Another

Two mature women holding crowns (typical love gifts). One touches the other's chin in a gesture typical of male courtship scenes. The woman on the left may be older, as suggested by her white hair and courtship gesture. If so, it would provide evidence that female relationships, like those among males, were mostly age-differential in this period.
