Image Index > Rejection of Suitor > Man And Boy In Dialogue

A bearded man reaches over to touch the shoulder of another figure, presumably a boy (since the man's bent over posture suggests the other figure is quite a bit shorter). Most interesting is the inscribed dialogue. Next to the man, eason ("let me"); next to the shoulder of the boy ou pausei ("won't you stop?"). This suggests that not all advances were welcome. Boys can and did say no.
