This chart is designed to show the distribution in the numbers of Women, Hispanics, and African-Americans in the House and Senate. The X-axis is divided into House and Senate, and each chamber is divided into years. The Y-axis represents the percentage of members in the House and Senate. From the chart, we can see the number of minorities has increased more significantly in the House than in the Senate. In the House, all the three categories show constant increase through the years. In the Senate, however, increases in the number of minorities are virtually nonexistent, except for female Senate members.
