    This is Simon Ager's guide to over 200 different alphabets, syllabaries, and other writing systems. Mr. Ager explains that his site "also contains details of many of the languages written with those writing systems and links to a wide range of language-related resources, such as fonts, online dictionaries and online language courses". This site includes sections on writing systems, multilingual computing, the Tower of Babel, free foreign fonts, a superb bibliography, and a book store. We believe it is a "must" for anyone interested in writing systems.

  • African Writing Systems
    Professor Ayele Bekerie designed this very informative site with creative and design assistance from Anika Iesha Daniels and Joseph Egbulefu. It is partially funded by the Ford Foundation. The site presents invaluable information on the various writing systems of Africa, including Ancient Egypt.
