The College of Liberal Arts issues a Call for Proposals for Liberal Arts Instructional
Technology Grants in the Spring semester preceding the academic year of the awards.
Proposals are reviewed and rated by a committee of Liberal Arts faculty, staff and
students. Final funding decisions are generally made before the end of the Spring
semester.
Call For Proposals - Academic Year 2008-2009
Submission Deadline: 12:00 Noon on TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2008
Funding Criteria
Funding is available for instructional technology projects of direct benefit
to students, including:
Eligible costs include, but are not limited to:
- Salary support for faculty for one Summer session (up to 1/6th of
9-month salary)
- Up to one year part-time wages for undergraduate or graduate assistants
- Project-specific computer hardware/software purchases and upgrades
- The purchase and installation of multimedia equipment
- Renovations, including electrical, lighting, furniture, and architectural
changes
Funding is NOT available for:
- Faculty or staff computer equipment, except for essential equipment
used directly for development of course technology
- Teaching Assistants
- Tuition, fees or scholarships for student employees
- Recurring salaries, wages and MO&E costs
- Administrative projects
Important Proposal Details:
- All Liberal Arts faculty and staff may submit proposals
- Department Chairs must write a departmental technology Vision Statement
referencing all submitted proposals
- If more than one proposal is received from a single department, the
department Chair must rank them by priority
- Projects must primarily benefit courses in the College of Liberal Arts at
The University of Texas at Austin
- Projects must be of direct benefit to students
