Relative Clauses
YI - G30

a noun which/who/where (etc.) ...
relative clause (plain form)  
+ Noun

÷ Use a relative clause to modify a noun
÷ the clause comes directly before the noun (no "who," "whom," "which," and "where")
÷ the topic は is not used in the relative clause (は is changed to the subject marker が or の)

きのう会った人  (The person I met yesterday)
きのう会ったは上田さんです。 (The person I met yesterday is Ueda-san.)

きのう買ったケーキ (The cake I bought yesterday)
きのう買ったケーキを食べましょう。 (Let's eat the cake I bought yesterday.)
