"Dotice" instead of "Notice." I feel something was lost in translation.

Typos

I found it really interesting in China how frequently English was written incorrectly on really official signs and documents as if no one had ever asked an English-speaker for a spell check! This typo was at the Great Wall where I am sure hundreds of English-speakers read the error everyday!

I completely agree with Megan.  It was very nice of the Chinese to attempt to communicate with English speaking tourists.  However, it was shocking to see how often the signs either had broken or incorrect English.  It seems these issues could have easily been fixed by just quickly consulting with a native speaker.
