This is a picture of our group riding bikes along the ancient city wall in Xian. It shows the stark contrast of China's treasured history with the tremendous growth and development in every major city. I really enjoyed riding along the wall and the view of the old city while comparing it to the new buildings.
i loved the bike ride too and I thought it was intersting to see how they didn't allow high rises inside the city wall, so the building looks much smaller and traditionally but they did outside where they city looked more modern and new.
I also really enjoyed biking along the city wall even though my bike was a little small for me (a trend in China)! It was interesting after having learned about the history of the city and its surrounding areas to then ride on the wall and see how the city has grown and developed over time.
