This shows the extent of pollution in China. It is a picture of a fish pond in the quaint and protected gardens of the Forbidden City, but you can still see it is littered with trash. I thought it was sad to see how the historical sites are not as well maintained as they could be.
I didn't fully understand the face masks until now. The pollution in China was so much worse than I expected. Many of them referred to the smog as mist, as if it were something beautiful, it was not.
I'm glad you posted this photo. I remember seeing that same spot when I visited the Forbidden City. Its in such a visible and prominent part right when you enter the city. I'm surprised this was not better maintained for such an important part of China's history.
I remember seeing this as well. China really needs to address its pollution problem immediately. The smog in the cities is a real health issue and the pollution issues will begin to affect China's ability to grow. I was also suprised to see such a public pond be so polluted. Not good.
