The Forbidden City built around 700 years ago is an indicator of how old China is compared to more recently formed countries like the United States.
The Chinese culture is so much older than the United States, that is exemplified by historic sites like the Forbidden City. Interesting though, how on this business trip, we were able to see first hand how advanced the U.S. economy is in comparison to China, and how China reacts to innovations in Western society, not the other way around. It is an interesting role reversal considering the relative youth of the U.S. compared to China's history.
I agree. The US is so young, relatively. I am always amazed to go places with so much more history.
It was really neat to see how much history has been preserved in China, especially inside the forbidden city.
