Fu told us for men being a teacher is a desirable job- women want to marry teachers. Most of the teachers at the school were male and they all wore suits. Very different from the US!

I was also surprised to learn that being a teacher was a very desirable job for a man.  In addition they are highly compensated.  This is in stark contrast to what we see in the states, where women and low pay are the norm. That being said maybe the lack of respect for the profession is why our school system is so bad.
