This is a picture of the CCTV building in Bejing. A major part of doing business in China is based appearances. In this case, the state owned media company wants to have a formidable presence in order to improve its credibility.
Most of the buildings in this area were very nice. It was one of the wealthier districts in Beijing and is clearly the place where prestigious businesses want to locate for that same reason.
