Description

This photo is from the Old Town, the market close to our hotel in Shanghai. It is a constant struggle to get through congested markets in China, and by the time we were in Shanghai we felt that we hardly noticed the crowds anymore. It wasn't until we lost half our group that we realized we weren't quite accustomed to our environment yet.

It was novel to be in such crowds on our trip, but I feel like they would make me feel claustrophobic after a while.  I am used to Texas where we have lots of personal space, but some Chinese probably think that crowds are the norm.
