This is a picture of the terracotta warriors built to protect the tomb of the Emperor of the QIN Dynasty, who first unified China. This was a strong nonverbal signal to his enemies that he will be just as strong in death as he was in life.
The Terra-cotta warriors were very impressive. I found it interesting that the emperor had the solider built to be significantly taller than the average man at that time. This was to show that he would have the strongest army possible to protect him in the after-life.
