Description

This photo is another from the Jiading elementary school showing a separate room where children could come and talk about how they were feeling in school. to me this was an example of the high-context, face-saving, polite to authority attitudes in China vs. the direct, express yourself type attitude found in the US. whereas a student in the US might express themselves in class and either be rewarded or be punished, a student in China will just respect authority, keep his/her opinion internal, and express him/herself in another situation (i.e. the Happy Station)
