Everyone worldwide knows of the German Autobahn - the fastest highway on Earth because of the absence of a speed limit. This concept brings up 2 thoughts for many Americans: 1. How does this work without causing accidents? 2. Take me there now so I can drive really fast! However, the Autobahn works because the Germans understand the unwritten rules that come along with it. The government is able to allow their drivers to go over 140km/hour because German drivers understand that the left lane is fast and for passing only, while the right is for smooth driving. There is some talk of establishing a speed limit, but many Germans feel that this would be a violation of their rights!
