Pérouges is a medieval city situated 35km northeast of Lyon. This photo depicts a traditional dessert of the region, known as "galette au sucre." Here, it is found sitting in the sun outside of a small bakery in the town. In the middle ages, residents baked these cakes in the sun, and while this tradition does not continue today, you can often find these cakes sitting in the sun throughout the city, further transporting visiters back in time.
