Description

This photo depicts the bicycle sharing system in France called the Vélib. The Vélib allows pedestrians to use bikes as they need and then simply drop them off at other locations. This system is distinctly different from the US, where no such program exists, and therefore the bikes must be viewed in the context of French culture. It is this context of a pedestrian-friendly and evironmentally-aware country that allows the system to be exceptionally useful and advantageous for the French.
