Traboules, hidden tunnels found only in Lyon, were originally used by silkworkers to safely transport silk from one building to another. Today Lyonnaise citizens can be found living in apartments in the traboules. This sign asks visitors to please respect the peace and quiet of the inhabitants. This differs from American society and Americans generally replace the old with new living accommodations.
