While visiting Marseille on my free weekend, I noticed this church near the center of town in Vieux Port. I found it interesting that the front of the church looked very nice and restored, but the back was old and worn down. I think it reflects how many monuments and buildings in France have a beautiful façade, but it dates back several centuries. France does an excellent job of displaying history in a flowing matter, whereas the United States is more stagnant.
