announces effective 1 September, 2010:


[1] 8 International Doctoral Fellowships


on subjects relating to memory and memorialization in the areas of Roman history, literature, archaeology, art, and religion, with a tenure of one year and the possibility of renewal for a second year.  Recipients can pursue their research at any location of their choice but will collaborate with Prof. Karl Galinsky and will come to Bochum, Rome, or London periodically for colloquia and discussion with other recipients.  Costs of such travel will be defrayed by the Project.


[2] International Research Stipends primarily for younger scholars


to support projects in the same subject areas.  These are subventions of maximally 3,000 EUR especially for projects leading to publication.  They may include, e.g., travel to museums, libraries, and archaeological sites.
