2. Pages 2 and 3: 6-8 questions total. These questions will be longer usually with and economic aspect.

At least 50% of the questions will be repeat questions from former exams. The rest will have some modifications and a few will be new.

3. Page 4: You will have one of two research questions: (No choice) Your group is to bring three articles from Internet or magazines for each question.

    1. How has labor force in manufacturing changed in the past 30 years?
    2. Is this due to outscourcing or automation?

    2. At the same time what has happened to manufacturing output? Why?

    3. What are the prospects for jobs in manufacturing?    

b. Income distribution

    1. What happening to the income distribution between 1900 and 1980
    2. What has happened since 1980.
    3. What factors account for the change?
    4. To what extent can government "save the middle class?"
