most anybody who knows me knows that i love demos and most anybody who has ever come to our apartment has been forced to observe a demo or two, or three, or four.... for those of you not familiar with demos i can only hope that you have some appreciation for art, audio-visual stimulation, psychedelic imagery, and abstract and different approaches to art and film. anyway, i've been watching demos for about a year and a half now and want to proselytize to you, the teaming masses, about this new and perhaps better artform.
ok, here are links to some of my favesfor those of you who are already familiar with demos here is a log i have kept of the demos i have downloaded and for which i have given very brief reviews (i have maintained this log out of my own need to keep a database of demos i have already downloaded and perhaps deleted, but perhaps you missed some of my favorites or would like to compare notes).
for those of you who aren't familiar with demos, i can only tell you that i think they are very much worth finding out about. they exist for fairly current ibm-based pc's and also for amiga computers and even commodore 64's. demos on pc's are dos-based programs that cannot be run from windows with a few exceptions. here are a couple of links to find out more.
shortly i will have some of my favorite smaller demos available for download here, as well as links to some of my larger favorites at the Hornet archive.
