Image Index > Sex Acts > Intercrural Penetration

Three pederastic pairs, two engaged in intercrural intercourse, the other in preliminary fondling and chin-touching. The participants do not appear significantly different in age or stature. The figures on the left and right margins may be excluded suitors, as suggested especially by the fighting cock (love gift) and prominent phallus of the figure on the right. The other two sides of the vessel display lesbian and heterosexual scenes. does this provide an early parallel to the schema of Aristophanes' speech in Plato's Symposium, dividing mankind into three sexual preferences - pederastic, lesbian and heterosexual?
