What is the Democratic Party? (Barbara Jordan - 6:00)

On July 12, 1976, U.S. Representative Barbara Jordan delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in New York. As we see in this excerpt, she does not merely praise Democratic Party accomplishments, attack the Republican Party, or list the problems facing the nation. Instead, she talks about the role of the Democratic Party in defining a national community.
