Torc

The gold torc was found encircling the skull, and was thus pronounced to be a diadem. It is now clear, however, that it is a particularly spectacular example of a Celtic torc and was worn around the neck.

Origin unknown; Celtic, Celtiberian, Greek, Pontic, Scythian or a mix of several have all been considered.

Late 6th to early 5th c. BCE.
