Signs for drivers in Beijing tended to utilize larger pictures to communicate ideas to outsiders vs. translated words.
I loved these signs too! I thought it was very interesting that they choose to use cartoony pictures instead of words or more serious looking pictures. Also in the US there would usually be a not sign over this.
I loved these signs too! I think my favorite, in addition to the wine glass, was the banana peel being tossed out of the car. I'm assuming it meant "don't litter." One thing I noticed on these signs was that there was no communication in these pictures about NOT doing it, in the US there might be a line crossing it out. So, not being able to read Chinese, if I didn't know any better, I might think it was telling me to throw trash out the window!
I loved these signs - some of them seemed so random and it was quite amusing just trying to figure out what they meant. I especially liked the one with the car in the wine glass - I'm guess that would be "don't drink and drive"?
If you're sleeping, how can you be reading this sign?
