White Asparagus

Not only is food a large part of the "Environment", but some foods seem to be more important to the people of a region. White asparagus fits that description. One of the reasons why people in Belgium and Germany get excited about springtime is because white asparagus is in season. I took this shot in Antwerp and there were a number of restaurants in town that all advertised that they had white asparagus. My father is also from Germany and I know that he would also get excited at the thought of white asparagus.
