Liliana del Carmen Toro, Secretary
Seguros Cordillera
Mérida, Venezuela

To begin, good morning, my name is Liliana del Carmen Toro. What follows is the question, describe in detail the responsibilities that you have in your work. The work I do is as the receptionist and at the same time as the administrative secretary. The second question, describe in details the activities of a typical work day. To function as the receptionist means to take calls and to make calls both to the central office in Caracas as well as the agencies or branches in question. A typical day: taking care of the public, the agents, complaints, management, the other associates.

What is the part of work that you like most and why? I would say everything, most of all taking care of the public. Offer them coffee, help them feel comfortable. And why? Because it has always been enjoyable for me, that is, I have always liked to work with the public.

What is the most difficult part of the job and why? For me the difficult part would be that of not working, not to have anything to do during the day. I get bored, I don't like it. For me it's problematic to be without anything to do. I always look for ways to be busy.

Another of the questions, number 5, is describe the training skills or knowledge that are necessary to do this job. To function as administrative secretary, as I do, involves preparing reports, relations, to have a general or high level of knowledge of each agent, because my job, one of my activities as administrative secretary is to control monthly all that an agent does, the premiums collected, pending premiums, claims pending, claims canceled, this is all what makes up an agent's file. Knowledge, that I am learning, because our managers offer us the opportunity of taking classes about insurance and in this way acquire greater knowledge, sorry for being repetitive.

Describe your work experience with foreigners. Mine has been scarce, although previously before working here at Seguros Cordillera, I worked at the Financial Trust for approximately three years. Before that I used to work at Barinas Bank. There I had the opportunity of dealing and speaking with people of other languages and it has been good and I have liked it a lot.
