QUIENES SOMOS

However we had a wonderful class with Nicolopulos and had the chance to discuss a great deal of what Paredes has written and contributed to the study of the corrido. Our class began with the debate as to what are the true origins of the corrido and what is a traditional corrido if one exists. Later we entered into studies of the progression of the corrido as Mexico progressed from its beginnings of revolution, culture conflicts with the United States and until now with the narco corridos. Todavía we are not sure how to define a traditional corrido since it should be left up to the corridista but we have learned a great deal and each one of us has come away from this class with great, new insight not only of el mundo del corrido but del Mexico as well. We thoroughly recommend this class and thank the professor for his energy and insight.
