I thought this was a great example of the high context Chinese culture. This is from a sign in the Forbidden city garden. It is a very descriptive and unique sign that you would not see in the U.S.
Rather than just give the name of the tree, this is a great example of context because it tells you why the tree is special. In the U.S. you would be expected to see the tree and interpret the value of it yourself. Here, the Chinese explanation tells you its valuable with a detailed description.
In the US, this sign would read: "Fine for damaging tree: $500"
