This view of Hong Kong is nothing but skyscrapers till the horizon. It is symbolic of the environment in which China hopes to compete in the new age...big economy and lots of commerce.
It was interesting that many Chinese citizens talked about the smog as mystical haze. The environment is an interesting byproduct of China's rapid growth and catch up mentality. It seems that in the past China was willing to make any sacrifice to catch up in the global economy. I was excited to hear that this trend is changing, however I hope that is not just lip service.
this was a good day for pollution...the standards are way lower than traditional pollution standards and need to be fixed soon!
