Guards at the Forbidden City.
I also noticed that often times guards were standing on a box of some kind. I never understood why some were on boxes while others were not. The formation and placement also seemed rather random to me as well. It's almost as if they're keeping up appearances by having guards everywhere, but i'm not sure what purpose they actually serve.
This is a great photo! I could not understand what the purpose of this uniform was though. Why did these two guards have helmets while the other ones did not? I also could not understand why they were standing where they were, it looked almost like they were doing it for photo ops!
