The Chinese language is often communicated through symbols. In ancient China, the Five Elements were often represented by colors. Different colors represented different meanings depending on the Dynasty, but in general they represent earthly features and other ideas such as good fortune, vitality, etc. Many traditional buildings have been preserved with the colors of the era.
Interesting, Chuck! I didn't know that. How interesting that there were other ways to communicate than traditional words.
I think I took about fifteen photos at the same place as you and were admiring the colors and shapes, but didn't know that it was communicating language!
